In response to numerous requests from residents over the years, the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce the return of a new Canoe/Kayak Boat Storage Rental Program at Wasserman Park, which began in 2025.

This new program offers Merrimack residents the opportunity to rent seasonal storage space at the park, eliminating the need to transport their boats daily and providing convenient access to the water.

Program Overview:
As this is a new initiative, space is limited. To ensure a fair distribution, we will implement a lottery system. Merrimack residents interested in participating may enter the lottery, and ten (10) individuals will be selected at random. If any spaces remain following the lottery, they will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Because Wasserman Park Beach is restricted to Merrimack residents only, eligibility for the lottery is limited to Merrimack residents. A total of ten (10) storage spaces will be available for the 2026 season.

The lottery will be open from April 13th, 2026 through May 11th, 2026 at 4:00 pm. Selected participants will be notified on May 15th, 2026 and will receive an invoice for $100.00 to secure their storage space for the 2026 season.

Upon payment, each participant will receive a marine sticker (similar to the Transfer Station sticker), which must be affixed to their boat to verify authorized use of the storage rack.

Each participant will be assigned one designated storage location, with only one boat permitted per space. Boat owners are responsible for securing their watercraft with their own lock and chain.

The 2026 storage season will run May 22nd - October 12th, 2026, at which time all boats must be removed for the winter.
