The StarGuard ELITE Lifeguard Certification Course is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. This nationally recognized certification course includes training in life guarding techniques, surveillance and risk prevention, water rescue skills, spinal injury management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, emergency oxygen administration, and teamwork in emergency situations. StarGuard ELITE utilizes evidence-based training methods and realistic rescue scenarios to develop professional-level lifeguards prepared for real-world aquatic environments.

This course will be offered in a hybrid format. Participants will complete a portion of the course through self-guided online learning modules prior to attending the in-person training sessions. The in-person component will consist of two full days of classroom instruction, hands-on skill practice, water rescue training, and final skill evaluations. All online coursework must be completed before the first in-person class.
Course prerequisites include:

Minimum age requirement of 15 years old by the final day of the course
Ability to swim 100 yds continuously without stopping
Ability to swim 50yds while using a rescue tube
Ability to tread water for one minute without using hands
Ability to retrieve a 10-pound object from the bottom of the pool
Completion of all required online learning modules prior to the first in-person session


Participants must attend and successfully complete all online modules, in-person training sessions, practical skills evaluations, and written examinations in order to earn certification. Certification is valid for one year through StarGuard ELITE. Advanced registration is required.
